A Little History

The Airdrie Artist Guild was established in 1988 by Jean Ottosen and Roger Lee. It is a non-profit Society accepting members within the community who enjoy art creation and social atmosphere that encourages art awareness and development. Meetings are held the second and fourth Wednesdays monthly, this year in the Co-op Community Room. Today the club offers the same art enjoyment opportunities as in the past; workshops, demonstrations, lectures, sketch night, video demos and community projects. Art is displayed over the summer in the Airdrie Public Library and at various outlets in town including Smitty's Restaurant.

Caricature with Kelli Gannon

Kelli came out to teach us the art of caricature, He did a few demos of Veronika, Brian, Beth and Tami and then got down to helping us create our own caricatures from photos. We certainly needed his instruction! Proficient at his art Kelli has worked for Disney and at many famous venues, especially corporate events in which he is expected to produce about 18 caricatures in an hour .  Next meeting we will meet to create the caricatures for the Art Exchange.
